Apprenticeship Program At Bishop State

An Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) is kicking off in Mobile on March 1, Alabama Newscenter reports. Intended to develop trade-skill employment, the eight-week program, hosted by Bishop State Community College, will expose participants to union crafts and the construction industry. They may then select a specific career trade on which to focus. Sponsored by the North America’s Building Trades Unions, ARPs include hands-on training focused on reaching historically underrepresented communities. Though there are more than 150 nationwide, this is the first ARP for Mobile. Class space is limited; application is required by January 28.
