Baldwin Preparatory Academy Updates

The Baldwin County Board of Education (BCBE) has announced that construction on the Baldwin Preparatory Academy is to be completed in July, AL.com reported. However, in the meantime, BCBE must call a public meeting to obtain approval for a flexibility contract and innovation plan for the school from the Alabama Department of Education. The meeting will be held on April 2 at 6 p.m. in the BCBE Central Office Satellite at 1091 B Avenue in Loxley. The public is invited to the meeting, which will inform on the flexibility contract process and innovation plan while collecting input. “There are many factors that make Baldwin Preparatory Academy different from a traditional high school,” BCBE said. “Due to those differences, a school flexibility contract and innovation plan is needed….” Once fully operational, the 182,000-ft2 building will serve 1,050 students from grades 10-12. Students will be able to specialize in vocations such as construction technology, cosmetology, welding, cybersecurity, HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
