Bayside Academy Director Receives National Award

DAPHNE, Ala. — Mary Ann Willis, director of college counseling emerita at Bayside Academy in Daphne, has been awarded the Gayle C. Wilson Service to Education Award by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). According to NACAC, “The Gayle C. Wilson Service to Education Award was named for a fine and outstanding leader who devoted their life to counseling and assisting students in attaining their educational goals. The Wilson Award is presented to NACAC members who, over a period of years, have performed outstanding service to [their] profession.” Willis spent nearly five decades in education, including 25 years at Bayside Academy. She has served on numerous college and education advisory boards, has published articles on admissions-related topics, has presented at national conferences and serves on the advisory board of the College Bound News newsletter.
