Bayside Academy Students Win Regional Arts Awards

Bayside Academy of Daphne has announced the results of the “Region-at-Large” competition of the 100th year of the New York City-based Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The school congratulated its students honored with a Scholastic Art & Writing Award in one of the most prestigious art competitions for high school students in the U.S. Junior Isabelle Rutland and senior Lillie McInnis won “Gold Key” awards in painting and photography, respectively, and senior Samuel Carpenter and junior Isabelle Rutland won “Silver Key” awards for photography and painting, respectively. Additionally, Junior Elizabeth Ernest won an honorable mention for painting. Students across America submitted more than 300,000 original works in 29 different categories of art. On average, only 5% of all regional submissions are recognized with Gold Keys and advance to the national competition.
