Bell Includes Mobile In Celebrity Jeopardy! Win

W. Kamau Bell, an award-winning comedian, commentator and director who spent childhood summers in Alabama, is sharing his Celebrity Jeopardy! win with schools in Mobile County, AL.com reports. Bell won the $1-million top prize for his charity of choice after defeating 26 other celebrities. He selected DonorsChoose, which provides an online wishlist for teachers on which they can post needs for classroom materials, and prospective donors can browse the listed projects. DonorsChoose projects for Mobile is sharing the funds with those in Oakland, California, where Bell lives. A representative from DonorsChoose said that in Mobile County, Bell had funded 72 projects listed by 52 teachers at 22 schools with approximately $53,000. Now eligible to move on to the show’s “Tournament of Champions,” Bell has funded novels at Dodge Elementary, summer gift bags for E.R. Dickson students motivated during the summer and playground equipment accessible to special-needs students at Orchard Elementary.
