Bishop State, USA Strike Culinary Arts Deal

Bishop State Community College and the University of South Alabama (USA) have announced a new articulation agreement to provide a seamless pathway for culinary arts graduates to transfer associate degree credits toward a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. This degree prepares students for a range of careers in the hospitality, tourism and service industries by providing a mix of business, management and customer service skills specific to sectors such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, event planning, travel agencies and tourism organizations. Bishop State students who complete an associate in applied science degree in culinary arts can transfer up to 58 credit hours toward USA’s hospitality and tourism management program, which requires a total of 120 credit hours for graduation. The articulation agreement includes a program equivalency table that outlines specific transferable courses so that students may understand exactly how their credits apply to USA’s degree requirements.
