CACC Names Acting President, Searches For New One

Coastal Alabama Community College (CACC) in Bay Minette has announced the appointment of Frazier Payne as its acting president. Payne was already serving as special assistant to the chancellor at Bishop State Community College in Mobile. He takes over after the retirement of Dr. Craig Pouncey, while CACC searches for a new president. A Shelton State Community College alumnus, Payne joined the Alabama Community College System in 2020 as a regional external and government affairs liaison. He was then appointed to serve as special assistant to the chancellor at Bishop State, where he implemented various improvements in programs and facilities, including starting the state’s first aviation manufacturing technology program. Prior to serving the Alabama Community College System, Frazier worked for then-Congressmen Bradley Byrne and Jo Bonner.
