Columbia Southern University Awards Safety Professional

Columbia Southern University’s College of Safety and Emergency Services faculty recently awarded its annual Outstanding Safety Professional of the Year Award to Jennifer Keach. Keach, a resident of Katy, Texas, works for global technology company SLB in Houston as a health, safety and environmental manager. She began working in the oil and gas industry in early 2000 as a truck driver, then moved up to a field supervisor in operations. In 2010, she decided to pursue a career in occupational safety and health (OSH) after being involved in a preventable incident at her workplace. “Additionally, I was inspired by my sister, who has been my role model in the OSH industry, demonstrating that one person can indeed make a difference,” she added. Keach, a Certified Safety Professional, Graduate Safety Professional and National Construction Safety Officer, holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in OSH from Columbia Southern University.
