Columbia Southern Wins International Award

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach has won two of the 43 awards given to an international collection of higher education institutions, Gulf Coast Media reported. The 2022 Exemplary Course Program Awards from Blackboard Inc. are for excellent course design. Dr. Jim Marion and instructional designer Cheryl Kula were awarded for their work creating the Project Stakeholders course, and instructional designer Elizabeth MacWhinnie, Dr. John Willey and Dr. Renee Reynolds received an award for their work on an English Composition II course. Courses are judged on excellence in assessment, course design, interaction and collaboration, and learner support. The Exemplary Course Program has honored instructors and course designers whose courses demonstrate best practices for nearly two decades.
