Elementary Teachers Coming To Mobile For Workforce Development

A cohort of 27 elementary teachers from five counties in South Alabama are participating in a professional learning opportunity between June and September provided by funding from the Alabama STEM Council‘s Workforce Incentive program. Participating teachers will earn three microcredentials in areas such as future-focused skills and emerging technologies to teach them how to integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts into their classrooms in an effort to build a STEM-ready future workforce. An in-person workshop for participating teachers will take place on the University of Mobile campus on July 9. Teachers are able to participate in this inaugural cohort for free, and teachers who complete all three microcredentials will receive up to $500 in stipends.
