Foley Student Wins Art In The Park Awards

FOLEY, Ala. — Tori Blackmon, currently a senior at Foley High School, was recently presented two awards for creating the artwork chosen for the 50th Art in the Park T-shirt. The first award was the establishment of the first annual Linda Koniar Emerging Artist Award, intended for a Baldwin County student each year in conjunction with Art in the Park, which takes place each year on Mother’s Day weekend in Foley. The winner has their artwork featured on the event’s T-shirts each year. The second recognition was given because the 2022 event is the 50th annual Art in the Park and Blackmon is a senior. She received a $1,000 scholarship from the Foley Art Center, which noted her spirit and artistic ability. Further details on the event, planned for May 7-8 in Heritage Park in Downtown Foley, are forthcoming.
