Infirmary Health, UM To Offer Nursing Scholarships

MOBILE, Ala. — Infirmary Health has partnered with the University of Mobile (UM) to offer half-tuition scholarships to eligible students who enroll in the university’s new Associate Degree in Nursing program. Infirmary Foundation enables Infirmary Health to provide scholarships and subsequent employment opportunities. “This partnership is the first of its kind in the region and helps to address the need for nurses along the Gulf Coast,” Infirmary Health says. The program is a fast-track career in nursing that can be completed in only five semesters. Students will gain hands-on experience, including skills laboratories and patient simulators used to create real-life scenarios, at UM. Students awarded the scholarships will join the Infirmary Health team for a minimum of two years after graduation. They also have the opportunity to continue their nursing education through the pursuit of a BS in Nursing, an MS in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice. The program is set to begin in August, pending final approval by the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges.
