MCPSS Employees Honored

The Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) has announced that several employees were recognized for their excellence statewide and nationally. Two counselors from E.R. Dickson Elementary School, Summer Davis and Kristy Elderkin, received the Program of Distinction Award by the Alabama School Counselor Association. “The award is based on their outstanding ability to implement a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program,” MCPSS added. Next, LTC (Ret.) Robbie Cross, senior army instructor at Blount High School, was recently honored as Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Teacher of the Year by the national Association of Career and Technical Education. "Robbie has done an awesome job expanding opportunities for our cadets and is the epitome of a JROTC instructor," LTC (Ret.) Robert F. Barrow, MCPSS director of army instruction, said of Cross. Finally, Dodge Elementary’s registrar, Darlene Adkison, was named the Council For Leaders in Alabama Schools Secretary of the Year for District One.
