MCPSS’ Mouton Teachers Receive Awards

The Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) has announced that its assistant superintendent for workforce development, Larry Mouton, recently won two prestigious awards: a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alabama Association for Career and Technical Education and the Alabama Works Region 7 Innovator Award, presented by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey. Mouton has overseen MCPSS career and technical education programs for the last 12 years. Additionally, Griggs Elementary kindergarten teacher Courteney Thompson and Calcedeaver Elementary Principal George Sullivan were named Outstanding Literacy Teacher of the Year and Outstanding School Administrator of the Year, respectively, by the Metro Mobile Literacy Council.
