MCPSS Schools Rank Highly In Region, State
The Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) is celebrating after several schools in the system received high rankings by U.S. News and World Report, WKRG reports. The outlet has rankings of the top elementary schools, middle schools and high schools around the country based on qualifications like test scores in reading and math, proficiency, graduation rates and college preparedness. Statewide rankings include the following: Eichold-Mertz Magnet School of Math, Science and Technology was ranked the No. 2 elementary school; Phillips Preparatory Middle School was ranked the No. 7 middle school; and Davidson High School was ranked Southwest Alabama’s top high school. Davidson also ranked No. 19 in Alabama high schools. Additionally, MCPSS had three of the top seven elementary schools and three of the top nine middle schools in Southwest Alabama.
