MCPSS Teachers Win Nationwide Awards

Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) teachers Nicole Bolton and David Dai were recently recognized among the nation’s top math and science teachers by the White House and National Science Foundation. Both teach at Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies in Downtown Mobile. Bolton teaches computer science, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and Dai teaches accelerated math and geometry. They won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and will receive a certificate signed by the president and a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation. They will travel to Washington, D.C., for an awards ceremony this spring. Additionally, MCPSS teacher Maegan Gayle has been named a finalist for the award. Gayle teaches at the Eichold-Mertz School of Math and Science.
