Mobile County Schools: $1.77 Million In Contracts For Mental Health

According to Call News, Mobile County Schools’ board has approved $1.77 million in contracts to help students with mental health problems and those who have suicidal thoughts. The board also approved hiring six independent contractors to help students at Strickland Youth Center with educational services. The agreement with AltaPointe include a $700,454 contract with BayPointe Hospital in Mobile to provide educational and psychiatric services to children aged 5-18 with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, a $630,087 contract with the youth center to provide a comprehensive educational and rehabilitation program and a $440,229 contract with West Mobile Academy to provide services for special-education students.
