New Principal For Robertsdale Elementary

Angie Beard has been named the new principal of Robertsdale Elementary School, GulfCoastNewsToday.com reported. A native of Gilberton, Alabama, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of West Alabama (UWA) in Livingston. After working in sales, she returned to UWA for a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education in 2005, then began teaching fourth grade at Choctaw County Elementary School. She later taught kindergarten in Demopolis for five years, then at Choctaw Academy in Toxey for two years. Wanting to return to a more diversified student population, she worked at Head Start with students from Marengo and Choctaw counties. Beard came to Baldwin County in 2013 for advanced academics, opportunity and community, starting at Gulf Shores Elementary before moving to J. Larry Newton, where she taught third grade. She then went to Silverhill School, where she eventually became an instructional reading coach. In 2017, she returned to UWA and earned another master’s degree in educational leadership. Following interning at Silverhill and at Gulf Shores High School, she has served as an assistant principal at Foley Elementary School for the last three years.
