Orange Beach Science, Nature Center Opens

Orange Beach City Schools opened the Sea, Sand & Stars Steven W. Baker Science & Nature Center on August 6, following a major revitalization project made possible through nearly $1 million in Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act funding. The work added 18 interactive exhibits and substantial upgrades to the facility, which Orange Beach City Schools said “serves as a cornerstone for STEAM [science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics] and environmental education at Orange Beach Elementary School.” The center will serve Orange Beach Elementary students this school year and is expected to reopen to the public next summer.
