Signup Open For NexGen Baykeepers

The Mobile Parks and Recreation Department and Mobile Baykeeper have opened the signup period for NextGen Baykeepers, a free kayaking and outdoor adventure program designed to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. Students in fourth, fifth and sixth grade will participate in science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities; art and nature lessons; and guided outdoor activities. It runs from October 6-29 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. The program is run out of Dog River Park, but interested students can also be dropped off at Figures Community Center, where they will receive a meal and be taken by bus to Dog River Park. Parent pickup will take place at Figures at 6:30 p.m.
