ASMS Breaks Ground On Research Center

MOBILE, Ala. — The Alabama School of Math and Science (ASMS) broke ground on the E. O. Wilson Science Research Center at its campus in Mobile on June 17. The 32,000-ft2 facility was designed to significantly enhance opportunities for ASMS students to conduct research and participate in cutting-edge learning via upgraded classrooms, laboratory equipment, research rooms, collaboration spaces and more. The groundbreaking also served as the official launch of the ASMS FOREVER capital campaign with a goal of $15 million to fund the building. ASMS has already raised $10.5 million in the silent phase of the campaign, which may be donated to by contacting ASMS Vice President of Development Dr. Samantha Church at email. Construction is expected to begin this summer, and the expected completion date is fall 2023 or spring 2024.
