Sports Academy Accredited for Core Curriculum

Daphne-based United States Sports Academy has received accreditation to begin offering the freshman and sophomore years of its longstanding Bachelor of Sports Science degree completion program. Now that its application for four-year bachelor’s degree status is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Academy will teach traditional core curriculum courses to broaden its offerings and appeal to a wider group of students, Provost Dr. Tomi Wahlstrom said. Freshman students will be admitted beginning in the spring 2021 semester. “New high school graduates are a new target market for us, and we are very excited to be working with freshmen and sophomores,” said Wahlstrom. As America’s only freestanding sports university, the academy has been continually accredited by SACSCOC since 1983.
