USA Fundraising Exceeds Goal
The University of South Alabama (USA) recently announced that it raised $160,900,915, exceeding the goal of its $150-million campaign to raise funds for an array of projects and benefits in the fields of education, research, service, science, healthcare, economic development, athletics, and the arts and humanities. Called “Upward & Onward,” the campaign saw more than 23,000 patrons since beginning several years ago. Only the second campaign in the university’s history, it included a $50-million gift from longtime USA supporter Abraham “Abe” Mitchell in 2013.
