USA College Of Medicine Names Associate Dean

The University of South Alabama (USA) Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine has announced that, following a national search, Maya Mirzoeva was named associate dean for finance and administration. Mirzoeva will focus on budget preparation, financial reporting and strategic financial analysis and ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies. She will oversee the college’s business office and support the associate deans and department chairs with key financial and operational activities. Mirzoeva said she was drawn to USA because of its strong institutional presence in the U.S. and its impact in numerous areas of research and education. Prior to joining USA, she served as assistant director of business operations for the Lutgert College of Business before becoming the assistant director of shared services operations at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Previously, she served as the business manager for academic affairs at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kabardino Balkarian State University in Nalchik, Russia, and earned an MBA from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. She has also received certificates in HR Essentials and Women in Leadership from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
