USA Creates Office Of Military Services

The University of South Alabama (USA) is expanding its support for active-duty members of the U.S. military, their dependents and veterans through a new Office of Military Services. The office is led by U.S. Army Sergeant Major David Blair (Retired), who has more than 18 years of experience leading similar programs at the University of Alabama and Mississippi State University. Blair joined USA on September 1. As part of his role, he will travel to military installations in the region to establish stronger ties with the university. “We have more than 115 degree programs at South—both on-campus and online—and are committed to providing the best support possible to the military community so they can access these educational opportunities,” said Dr. Andi Kent, USA executive vice president and provost. “David Blair has a stellar reputation and is well-respected in the military community. He knows how to navigate the complex world of military benefits, and we look forward to supporting these students in unprecedented ways under his leadership.”
