USA Neuroimmunology Symposium Coming UP
The University of South Alabama (USA) Department of Neurology will host a Neuroimmunology Symposium on August 13-15 at The Admiral Hotel in Downtown Mobile, bringing together experts to advance the care of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and autoimmune encephalitis. The symposium is designed to enhance provider competency, improve patient outcomes and support holistic care for individuals living with neuroimmunological diseases. In addition to clinical updates, the program emphasizes caregiver education and connections to local and national resources that address the full spectrum of patient needs. Targeted to neurologists, primary care providers, rheumatologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, residents, students and allied health professionals, the symposium offers a multidisciplinary learning environment focused on collaborative care and evidence-based practice. Educational objectives include reviewing updated diagnostic criteria for MS, NMOSD and autoimmune encephalitis; evaluating U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved and supportive therapies; and identifying local resources and patient assistance programs to improve long-term disease management. Sessions will include breakfast, lunch, refreshments and evening receptions. Registration is $150 for USA faculty; $75 for all other attendees; and complimentary for residents, students, and patients with MS and their families.
