USA Promotes Green to VP For Academic Affairs

The University of South Alabama (USA) recently announced the appointment of Dr. Andre Green to associate vice president (VP) for academic affairs. Green was most recently associate dean in the College of Education and Professional Studies. He began his career at USA as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2012, then professor in 2015 and served as chair of the department of leadership and teacher education. Green is recognized in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics pedagogy, having received more than $6 million in grants and contracts during the most recent fiscal year and more than $35 million over the course of his career, including numerous awards from the National Science Foundation and Alabama State Department of Education. In his new role, Green will oversee the development of the Center for Integrative Studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, serves as liaison with the office of research and economic development to facilitate other research initiatives throughout the university and works with the office of grants and contracts accounting to facilitate timely and compliant post-award administration of funded research projects.
