USA Ranked Among “Best Global Universities”

The University of South Alabama (USA) has again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Global Universities” in its 2026-2027 rankings. The top 2,250 schools, representing 105 countries, were ranked. Out of more than 4,000 U.S. colleges and universities, only 275 earned a spot in this year’s rankings. USA was one of them, rising eight places from last year’s rankings. It was ranked in the top 12% for its regional research reputation. The ranking was based on 13 indicators that measure each university’s academic research performance and its global and regional reputations. The indicators included the percentage of highly cited papers among the top 1% most cited, global and regional research reputation, and publications for scholarly research.
