Irvington’s Jayy Wins The Voice
Alabama’s Alexia Jayy won Season 29 of The Voice on April 14, AL.com reported. The R&B singer from Irvington is the second Alabama contestant to win on the NBC reality series during its 15-year history. She follows in the footsteps of Asher HaVon, a soul singer from Selma who took the title in May 2024 in Season 25. Jayy is also the first Black woman to win on The Voice. She was championed by her coach, Adam Levine, who called his protege “one of the most spectacular singers that I have ever heard in my life.” She triumphed over three other contenders during the 2-h. finale in a vote by members of the studio audience, including superfans and contestants from previous seasons.
