MoonPie Over Mobile Set For December 31

MoonPie over Mobile is taking place in Mardi Gras Park in Mobile on December 31. It will start with a kids zone open from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. It will include a noon MoonPie drop for children. At 6:30 p.m., Emcee Levi Sims and DJ Dalton Muse will begin paying between acts. The Best Decorated Umbrella Contest will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel courtyard, where the Jukebox Brass Band will play. The courtyard will also see cutting of “the world’s largest MoonPie” at 7:45 p.m., and a second-line parade will start at 8:10 p.m. City officials and Sims will speak on the Main Stage at 8:30 p.m., and Red & The Revelers will begin playing there at 9:30 p.m. Headliner Morris Day and The Time will begin playing at 11 p.m., and the MoonPie Drop will take place at midnight.
