$9.9 Million Earmarked For Mobile County Projects
The Mobile County Commission has approved $9.9 million in funding as part of an amended plan to use American Rescue Plan Act money for several projects, Call News reported. Kushla’s water system will get $1.967 million to build a new supply well and provide service without raising rates. $1.985 million will be used for a new 12-inch water main to be installed for Turnerville on Celeste Road. USA Health will receive $1.84 million to buy an EMCO machine that helps preserve life for patients with life-threatening illnesses of the heart and lungs. No healthcare providers in Mobile or Baldwin counties provide this service. The Southern Alabama Area Health Center is getting $1.25 million for software for all Mobile County hospitals. Lifelines Counseling Center is getting $1 million for program enhancements, and another $1 million is going to AltaPointe Health Systems for a mental health court. Finally, Franklin will get $620,000 to recruit and retain a resident psychiatrist at Franklin Primary Health Clinic, and the Boy Scouts of America Mobile Area Council will be funded with $250,000.
