It has a food bank equipped with refrigeration and is the new home of Africatown Redevelopment Corp., an organization created by the state legislature in 2021, and it provides office space for the Africatown Heritage Preservation Foundation, Clotilda Descendants Association and Mobile Environmental Justice Action Coalition. It is also the new home for collaborative food distribution activities already underway in Africatown by Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church and Africatown Community Development Corp.
