Baldwin County has the highest incoming investment in Alabama, AL.com reported, gleaning data from an annual study by SmartAsset. Baldwin County ranked No. 125 in America with business growth of 13.4%, GDP growth of $1,201, 25.22 new building permits per 1,000 homes and an incoming investment index of 27.72. Ranking No. 10 in the county and No. 807 in America, Mobile County had business growth of 2.8%, GDP growth of $1,733, 5.95 new building permits per 1,000 homes and an incoming investment index of 18.44. SmartAsset is a financial technology company that measures investment in counties across the metrics of business establishment growth, GDP growth and new building permits. The rankings are intended to give residents an inside look into where investments, including business opportunities and infrastructure development, are concentrated in the state.
