Dauphin Island Bridge Rhebalitation Begins

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced it has begun a major rehabilitation project on the Dauphin Island Bridge on State Route 193. To help extend the life of the bridge and improve safety for motorists, the work includes bridge rehabilitation and corrosion mitigation at multiple locations. The cost will be $33.66 million, and the contractor is Southern Road & Bridge, LLC. Completion is anticipated by early 2029, weather permitting.
