Employers Sought For City Of Mobile Internship Program

The City of Mobile is looking for Mobile-based employers interested in hosting an intern through its YES (Youth Empowered for Success) initiative. This program is geared toward teens ages 16-18 and college students ages 18-24 interested in gaining workforce experience in the Mobile area. Young professionals will be on hand to staff local businesses each season with a maximum availability of 160 hours. All payroll and paperwork will be managed by Laine Federal for each intern placed. The city will interview and determine the placement of potential interns based on availability, student interest and/or employer job functionality requests. The summer program starts June 5, 2023; the fall program September 11, 2023; and the spring program January 8, 2024. The employer application is to be completed by February 16 at 5 p.m. Businesses selected to host a YES intern will be notified and required to send a representative to an orientation that will take place on March 23. For more information or inquiries, contact the city at email.
