Fairhope Library Plans Renovation

Improvements on the uncompleted second floor of the Fairhope Public Library are expected in the upcoming year, GulfCoastNewsToday.com reported. Project supporters said the facility, nearly 15 years old, would include a space for teens, a revamped technical services area and meeting rooms for the Friends of the Fairhope Library on the floor. Ann Johnson, chairwoman of the Fairhope Library Board of Directors, said the board and library staff are preparing plans and raising money for the renovations in anticipation of putting out construction bids in fiscal 2022. Once begun, the work should take approximately six months. Additionally, installation of a York air-conditioning unit has been ordered for the library at a cost of $88,125.25.
