Foley Opens Public Works Campus
The City of Foley opened its new $17-million Public Works Campus on July 27 on 14 acres at the intersection of North Poplar Street and East Section Avenue. The new facility includes offices and facilities for the public works, street, sanitation and engineering departments, in addition to a 16,000-ft2 garage to maintain Foley’s fleet of approximately 450 vehicles and expanded fuel storage capacity. The facility also has two natural gas generators and is constructed to withstand winds of up to 160 mph. It is expected to meet the city’s needs for the next 30-40 years.
