Foley Public Works Campus Construction Underway

Work kicked off this week on the new $17-million Foley Public Works Campus, now being constructed at the intersection of North Poplar Street and East Section Avenue. The new facility will house the public works and sanitation departments. The City of Foley says the current public works facilities are too small for its current needs and that the new campus will provide more interior space for the department that will be needed as Foley continues to grow. It will also provide more covered storage space, be a more resilient site to protect vehicles and other equipment during hurricanes and have an expanded fuel island with more storage capacity to supply vehicles if supplies are interrupted by a storm or another emergency. The project is expected to be completed in approximately one year. The facility is expected to meet the city’s needs for the next 30-40 years.
