Funding For Sharing The Africatown Story Opens

The Africatown Heritage Preservation Foundation has announced round-two funding opportunities for the Sharing the Africatown Story community initiative. An informational meeting will take place at the Robert Hope Community Center at 850 South Edwards Street in Mobile on October 1 from 5-7 p.m. Individuals, nonprofits, religious organizations, community groups and partnerships serving Africatown are welcome to apply by October 23. Projects must benefit the Africatown communities of Magazine Point, Lewis Quarters, Plateau, Happy Hill and Kelley Hills; contribute to sharing the Africatown story; and create a resource that is freely accessible to the public.
