Grant Funds BBB Videos

Rep. Jennifer Fidler of Silverhill, representing District 94 in Baldwin County, is helping the Better Business Bureau (BBB) fight fraud through the donation of grant money made available through the state’s Community Service Grant program, Yellowhammer News reported. The funding is allotted to legislators for educational and community improvement projects and organizations within their legislative districts. Earlier this year, Baldwin County Reps. Fidler, Donna Givens and Frances Holk-Jones sponsored a fraud seminar called “Empower Yourself, Don’t Be a Victim of Fraud” for constituents. It included topics from the BBB Educational Foundation, The Alabama Securities Commission, the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission Medicaid fraud division, AARP and local law enforcement. They taught attendees tools to find reputable businesses, how to identify fraud, what to do when fraudulent activity is encountered and what to do if they fall victim to fraud. With the help of a $6,000 community service grant, the BBB Educational Foundation will make a video of that seminar and others available here
