Innovate Alabama Opens Second Round Of Small Business Grants

The Alabama Innovation Corporation (Innovate Alabama) recently opened applications for Phase I, round two of the Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant Program. Through February 17, Alabama-based recipients of Phase I and Phase II Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants are eligible to apply for up to $250,000 in supplemental funding. Eligible applicants must have had an active Phase I or II SBIR or STTR grant on July 1, 2021, or later. Phase I recipients are eligible to apply for 50% of their award up to $100,000, and Phase II recipients are eligible to apply for 50% of their award up to $250,000. Innovate Alabama launched the statewide program in July 2022, awarding more than $4.5 million in supplemental funding to 30 grant recipients in six Alabama cities to support the growth of their small businesses (BBN #102). Most recently, Mobile-based Clarity, aka Sure Med Compliance, was among 30 winners awarded up to $250,000 in the first round of supplemental funding.
