Mobile Advances More Than $11 Million For Resurfacing

The Mobile City Council advanced more than $11 million in road resurfacing projects supported by Mobile County’s Pay-As-You-Go program, Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced. The city will take on several new road resurfacing projects each year. The contracts the council approved will allow it to resurface more than 70 mi. of roadway that will touch North University, Hamilton and Bel Air boulevards; Cottage Hill, Demetropolis, Pleasant Valley, New Day Bridge and Howells Ferry roads; Washington, Spring Hill, First, Gloria York, Howell, New Shiloh and Bayshore avenues; Congress, Donald and Mobile streets; and Northwest Drive. Stimpson said 45 active transportation improvement projects are happening across the city. They are detailed on its Capital Improvement Program Dashboard.
