Mobile Approves Increased Budge
Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced that the Mobile City Council voted to approve his administration’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2023 with a few minor amendments on September 27. The $298-million budget represents a moderate increase from the current budget and includes a 2.5% merit raise for city employees and another $63 million for the Capital Improvement Program, which will continue to improve streets, sidewalks, traffic lights, drainage, parks and public facilities. In addition, it includes more than $7 million in performance contracts to support dozens of nonprofit community partners.
