Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced that 10 locations throughout the Africatown and Plateau area were re-roofed and repainted by more than 220 volunteers from Alpharetta, Georgia-based nonprofit Mission Serve this week. There, they replaced the roofs on nine houses and gave seven houses fresh coats of paint. The volunteers represented diverse ages, Christian denominations and geographic locations.
