Mobile Citizens Academy Taking Applications

The City of Mobile is now accepting applications for “C251: Citizens Academy,” it recently announced. This third iteration of the yearly program aims to teach citizens more about how the city’s government functions over six weeks. It is intended to provide residents with an in-depth look at Mobile’s government through tours, hands-on demonstrations and presentations by city leaders. Participants will get an insider’s view of the city and its departments, encourage citizens to become involved in the community and enhance Mobilians’ ability to communicate effectively with their government. The application period for the first cycle of the popular program has begun, and there will be a session every week beginning March 8. Only 30 spots are available.
