Mobile County EMA Earns National Accreditation
The Mobile County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has earned national accreditation from the national Emergency Management Accreditation Program, making it the only county EMA in the state to hold such a distinction, the county said. This achievement means the Mobile County EMA meets the highest standards for emergency preparedness, coordination and community protection. It is one of only nine entities across the country to earn the accreditation this year. To earn the accreditation, Mobile County EMA completed a multi-year process that included self-assessment, documentation and peer review across 17 key areas. Accreditation is valid for five years and requires continued compliance.
