Mobile County Reviewing ARPA Projects

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — The Mobile County Commission recently announced it is “actively working to fund projects submitted for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding consideration in a timely manner that is in compliance with the federal guidelines and also has the greatest intended impact for Mobile County.” It received approximately 200 applications for the $80.14 million it received in ARPA funding during the priority consideration period last fall. It has since conducted an initial risk assessment to determine whether funding is permissible according to ARPA’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds grant. Discussion of ARPA funding priorities will be placed on an upcoming commission meeting agenda before final approval of project selections. The application submission portal is closed, but questions regarding a specific application can be asked via email.
