Mobile District 2 Housing Initiative Opens

Mobile City Council President Levon Charles Manzie recently announced a new housing rehabilitation initiative, “A New View for District 2.” The program will provide up to $5,000 for exterior improvements, such as roof work, exterior painting and installing ramps to the homes of 60 local residents in District 2. Manzie said he created the initiative to alleviate the issue of homes in disrepair in his district. The grants are funded by $300,000 allocated from District 2’s Council Capital Improvement Program funds. The Community Development Department is accepting applications and may be contacted at 251-208-6294.
