Mobile International Airport Reaches Milestone

The Mobile Airport Authority has announced that the first steel beam has been erected at the Terminal and Parking Garage Project at Mobile International Airport. Construction on the project started approximately 18 months ago. Since, tenants have been relocated, a creek has been enclosed onsite, some utility work has been done and a wash rack has been moved. The new terminal and parking garage are scheduled to open in November 2025, shifting all commercial air service from Mobile Regional Airport to Mobile International Airport. The terminal will feature four domestic gates and one international swing gate with the capability to expand to 12 gates as demand increases. The parking garage will offer 1,250 spaces. Additionally, the existing low-cost terminal will continue to operate with two gates upon the opening of the new terminal.
