Mobile Launches Litter Campaign

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson has announced “a mission to reduce the amount of litter caused by trash that blows out of pickup trucks, so we can reduce the amount of trash in our roads and waterways.” The city has partnered with local organizations and businesses including the Dog River Clearwater Revival; Joe Bullard Automotive; Lamar Advertising; Mobile Baykeeper; the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program; Partners for Environmental Progress; Roberts Brothers, Inc.; and the Alabama Coastal Foundation on a campaign called “Trash Blows: Stow it!” Pickup drivers are asked to stow all trash in a can before driving and/or install receptacles in their truck beds to collect trash.
